Saba Group was founded in 1383, with the aim of electricity production, supply and trade. consists of a set of eleven companies acting in the country's electric power industry. It possesses five large power plants of the country and works as one of the few private companies producing electricity in the country. In line with article 44 of the constitution and regarding transference of power stations to private sector, Saba Group purchased Power Plant (Zargan, Ahvaz) from the government, as its first practical measure. Regarding lack of adequate experience and appropriate mechanism, this transference was very important, as it was the first one in its kind in the history of the country's electricity industry. Therefore, Saba Group can be considered as a pioneer in this field.
Saba Power and Energy Industry Holding Company is a reliable and dynamic group, and among three major enterprises producing sustainable electricity in the region. At present, with possessing Zargan-e Ahvaz, Khorramshahr, Aliabad-e Katul, Qom and Chabahar power plants, Saba Group produces nearly 3,200 megawatts of electricity, and supplies energy to the country's national grid. Given the vastness and importance of the operation of power plants subsidiary to Saba Holding Company, it's been defined as a range of activities in Saba. The range of operating activities includes performing all the necessary processes and proceedings for the operation, repair and maintenance of plant's equipment and machinery in order to generate the product (electric energy). In fact, this range of activities is one of the ways of revenue earning for the enterprise, and it can cover other clients (i.e. power plants) inside or outside of the country, in addition to the plants within the Group.
